Threefield Lane
This street runs south from Marsh Lane to Bernard Street. The name is traditional and the street formerly included what is now Latimer Street. There is evidence that this area was once divided into acre strips and presumably these were grouped into three-field units. An early name for the road was Nightingale Lane. Most of the original housing was swept away in the slum clearances of the 1890s and 1930s.
