St Michael's Street is a short street jointing the west side of the High Street with French Street, opposite St Michael's Church. A row of mid-19th former commercial buildings survives on the south side of the street. No. 5 is a three-storey building built of brown brick with grey headers. The words Cooksey Son & Burch Provision Merchants are engraved across the length of the frontage. Cooksey and Son were wine and wholesale provision merchants listed in street directories from 1847 with premises at 125 High Street. The 1871 directory has them as Cooksey, Son and Burch. The building has been converted into apartments. Nos. 6-8 is a three-storey, buff-coloured brick building. Both are Grade II listed.
