This was originally the home farm of the St Denys Priory estate. From the 16th century the farm buildings were on the site of the ruined priory and may have been re-built partly from materials re-used from the priory. In c.1778 General Stibbert of Portswood House acquired the priory site and rebuilt the farmhouse (image below). The farmhouse was demolished in the mid-19th century when the area was developed.
