In 1953 a temporary church adjoining Millbrook rectory on the west side of Regent’s Park Road was opened to serve the needs of people in the Foundry Lane area. It was intended that the building should function as a church only until a larger permanent church be built alongside it, after which it would become a church hall. The new church, however, was never built.
The church closed in 2001 and, despite a public outcry (see clipping 2 below), was demolished in c.2007 and flats built on the site.
