Built in 1968-69 and opened in November 1969, St Andrew’s was the result of a merger between Sholing Methodist Church in South East Road and the Hightown Methodist Church in Manor Road. The new church, built near the corner of Butts Road and South East Road, was designed by architect John Pantlin and built by local firm D. J. Arnold.
