Southbrook House
This was an early Georgian red-brick house formerly standing in extensive grounds on the south side of Commercial Road / Four Posts Hill, almost opposite Hill Lane and just to the east of what was then Sidford Street. The Rolles Brook (or South Brook) flowed through the grounds, until diverted in the 1880s, hence the name. Interestingly, the house in named Cassina Cottage on the Town Map of 1845-46. It was demolished at some time after 1910.
