These were a series of meadows in 17th century Portswood. They were situated along the Itchen shore on the site of the later sewage works. Lower Salt Mead was on the shore in the vicinity of modern-day Aberdeen Road; Middle Salt Mead was situated in the vicinity of modern-day Kent Road; Upper Salt Mead was near the modern-day Belgrave Road area.
