This monument was erected in c.1862 by the wish of R H Rosoman and commemorates members of the Rosoman family, one of whom, Richard Robert Loane Rosoman, died in the Stella disaster in 1899. The family were prominent in local affairs in the 19th century and Rosoman and Loane Roads were named after them. The monument is Grade II listed.
