The still surviving medieval lane north of the Wool House runs between it and the former West Hall. It was possibly named from a member of the family of de Rochelle. It was also called La Narwelane (Narrow Lane) and Sylvester Davies identified it with Halveknyght Lane, which may well be an accepted medieval alternative, the Halveknyght family holding West Hall in the late 13th century. Other historians, however, have identified Halveknyght Lane with Braggery’s Lane.
