This statue of the Third Viscount Palmerston is seven feet high and made of stone, white marble and granite. It was erected by public subscription and unveiled by the Earl of Caernarvon on the 2 June 1869. The sculptor was Thomas Sharp of London. It stands facing Above Bar in what is now known as Palmerston Park, but which was previously the Fairground. The statue is Grade II listed.
