Orchard Street
This was the more southerly of two former lanes - the other being Coldharbour Lane - now replaced by modern Bargate Street and themselves replacing the medieval town's north-west ditches. Presumably the name is descriptive as the whole stretch is described in 1673-4 as planted with cherry trees.
