Northam station was situated on the south east side of Northam Road, west and north of the gasworks. It was opened in 1872, in response to pressure from Northam residents for their own station. It was built by J. Bull and Sons, a local company which built many stations in the area. Competition from other forms of transport led to the station’s closure in 1966. In 1969 the platforms were removed and the station buildings were demolished. Very little now remains.
