Mounes Lane
A 14th century name for a small lane then leading from Bugle Street to the Western Shore, named from Simon Mone (or his predecessor) then occupying the house at the north corner with Bugle Street. The lane's earlier name appears to have been Granttes Lane and it ran approximately half way between Westgate Street and Blue Anchor Lane. In the early 15th century it bore the name Merserys Lane and had become a vacant plot, being no longer a thoroughfare. It had a width of 9 feet throughout.
