Monks Way
Monks Way was built by Herbert Collins and the Swaythling Housing Society in the mid 1930s. It is situated south of Mansbridge Road on land that was formerly part of Grange Farm. A seat at the entrance to Monks Way has an inscription: ‘Monks Way: The houses on this estate were erected by the Swaythling Housing Society to let at low rents. The first house was opened by Sir Kingsley Wood MP, Minister for Health, on the 3rd October 1935. Architects Messrs H Collins and J G Birkett.’
