Monks' Path
A footpath from Woodmill to Mansbridge via what were recently meadows. The age and significance of the name are not clear, since the district traversed, Swaythling and Mansbridge, belongs to the episcopal manor of South Stoneham. If the name has any antiquity perhaps the association is with the monks of Old Minster, Winchester to the clothing of whom the revenues of South Stoneham were dedicated.
