These were the twin ponds lying south east and south of the medieval Chapel Mill, occupying a site between modern-day Ryde Terrace and Crosshouse Road in Chapel.

The ponds were separated from one another by the stone causeway of Our Lady of Grace leading to Cross House. They were the last relics to survive from the pre-medieval lagoon and the double mill-pond serving Chapel Mill. Another mill pond lay to the north east of these two ponds.
