Opened as Itchen Pupil-Teachers' Centre in 1906 in Bridge Road, Woolston. Moved to Porchester Road in 1916 and to Middle Road in 1921, when the name changed to Itchen Coeducational Secondary School. The school was evacuated to Andover in 1939. In 1946 it became a grammar school and in 1966 an open-access sixth-form college.
