A district name in the north west of the city, now applied to a cemetery and its vicinity. The name derives from the stream flowing through the district from the Sports Centre and the wooded country beyond. This can be firmly equated with an holan broc (the hollow brook) of the North Stoneham land charter of 922. The stream filled a series of ancient mill-ponds in the vicinity of Shirley Warren. These served the mill, destroyed in the 1950s, near the junction of Winchester Road and Romsey Road, where is the confluence with Tanner's Brook.

Hollybrook Farm
This is the caption on a W. M. Cooper painting describing "old farm building, Hollybrook, Shirley". Its identification is not clear.
