Holland Road is a late-Victorian cul-de-sac off Church Road, between Obelisk and Western Grove Roads in Woolston. It was named after the artist Sir Nathaniel Dance-Holland who in c.1800 had his country seat at nearby Woolston House.

He was born Nathaniel Dance in London in 1735 and he gained early distinction as a fashionable portrait painter. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Academy in 1769. He took the additional name Holland in the 1790s.
