Galleys Quay
This was a name of the 15th and 16th centuries, apparently relating to the stretch of the western shore immediately north of West Quay. The association is clearly with the trade of Venetian, Florentine and other galleys, but whether the draught was adequate for the mooring of the galleys themselves is not known.
