This was a watercourse named in the town's perambulation of 1254 at the north east boundary, “from Burlstone to the water course of Furzewells as it goes down to the River Itchen”. The boundary was interpreted by the town as following the line of modern Langhorne Road and its continuation to Haven Stone, but by the Boundary Commissioners of 1832 as the line of the Boundary Brook (i.e. Furzewells).
