Freemantle Ponds
These were two ponds on an anonymous stream, north of and parallel with Paynes Road, later drained to provide a recreation ground. They appear to have been constructed originally as mill ponds, the mill house lying to the west. In a later phase they probably powered the foundry of Foundry Lane. Later they were incorporated as an amenity into the grounds of Freemantle House.
