Cross Guns
This 18th century public house, which dates to at least 1773, stood at the south end of the salient in the town wall immediately north of Simnel Street. It was renamed West Quay Tavern in 1855 and survived until the slum clearances of the 1890s. The site is now covered by Western Esplanade.
