Coopers' Tower
This was the Tudor name for the tower immediately south of the West Gate. It was previously named Latrine Tower from its proximity to a public latrine. The tower’s maintenance became the responsibility of the coopers, hence the name change. Later it passed to the care of the shoemakers.
