The chapel was situated on the west side of Southampton Street just south of the junction with Carlton Place. It was erected 1834 and consecrated in 1836; it is shown on the Town Map of 1845-46. The sect was also known as the Irvingites after its founder Edward Irving (1792-1834). The chapel was destroyed by bombing in 1940.
