Carlton Baptist Chapel
This chapel, which was situated on the east side of London Road just north of Bellevue Road, was opened in 1865, built by a breakaway group from Portland Baptist Chapel. The builders were Joseph Bull and Sons. In World War Two it was used as a club for black American soldiers and was later taken over by the Women's Voluntary Service. It was sold to developers in 1965 and demolished in 1968.
