Canute's Tower
A 19th century name for the tower formerly called Notebemes Tower or Watchbell Tower which was situated at the angle of the wall south east of the Watergate on the site of the later Sun Inn. The tower was tall and round in section. It was probably demolished when at the same time as the Watergate or shortly afterwards.
