Canute Chambers
Canute Chambers is situated on the south side of Canute Road next to Ferry House, the old dock administration building (now a public house). Built in the late 19th century, Canute Chambers is a red brick building with a distinct Flemish gable. It has housed the offices of a number of shipping lines, including the American Line and the White Star Line. It was here that the relatives of Titanic crew members congregated to hear news of their loved ones. A plaque commemorates this fact. The building is Grade II listed.
