Brodegate
1) Medieval name for a property on the east side of High Street (English Street) immediately north of ‘Le Dolphyn’ and just within Holy Rood parish, i.e. what is now the middle part of the present Dolphin site.
2) A medieval gate leading to a property immediately north of the friary. The gate appears to have been situated at the north end of the property.
